Sign in to your Gmail at https://mail.google.com
Click the gear icon → See all settings
Go to the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab
Under IMAP access, select Enable IMAP
Click Save Changes.
If you have 2-Step Verification enabled, follow these steps:
Under "Signing in to Google", click App passwords
Sign in if prompted
Select App: Mail, and Device: Windows Computer
Click Generate
Copy the 16-character password shown – you will use this instead of your regular password.
Open Outlook
Go to: File > Add Account
Enter your Gmail address (e.g., you@gmail.com
)
Click Connect
Enter the App Password (not your Gmail password)
Click Next > Done
Go to File > Account Settings > New
Select Manual setup or POP/IMAP
Fill details:
Server: imap.gmail.com
Port: 993
Encryption: SSL/TLS
Server: smtp.gmail.com
Port: 465
or 587
Encryption: SSL/TLS or STARTTLS
Use your full Gmail address and the App Password as credentials.
