How to generate app password

🔐 How to Generate an App Password in Zoho

✅ Step 1: Sign In to Your Zoho Account

2.    Log in using your Zoho email and password.

3.    If 2FA is enabled, complete the second-step authentication.

✅ Step 2: Go to Security Settings

1.    Once logged in, click on your profile picture or initial icon at the top-right corner.

2.    Select My Account or click this direct link: https://accounts.zoho.com/u/h#security

3.    In the left menu, click Security.

✅ Step 3: Open App Passwords

1.     down to the App Passwords section.

2.    Click Generate New Password.

✅ Step 4: Generate the Password

1.    In the prompt, enter a name for the app (e.g., Outlook, Thunderbird, or Mobile Mail).

2.    Click Generate.

 

✅ Step 5: Copy and Save the App Password

1.    A 16-character password will be shown.

2.    Copy this password and store it securely (you won’t be able to view it again).

3.    Use this app password in the place of your Zoho login password when setting up email clients.

 

🔁 To Delete or Regenerate an App Password

·     Go back to the App Passwords section in Security.

·     You can view a list of generated passwords.

·     Click the trash icon next to any password to revoke it.

 

 

⚠️ Notes:

·     App Passwords only work when 2FA is enabled.

·     Use different app passwords for different devices or email clients for better security.

·     You can revoke and regenerate app passwords anytime.
